Our room faced the street and the window drapes did very little to keep the street lights from seeing at night. The room was not cleaned promptly. It wasn't cleaned until the mid-afternoon. We did not receive a newspaper on our departure date which apparently the other guests staying did.

Our family of 5 (three teens) spent four nights at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront as a last minute vacation to the beach. The rooms were super-clean (our only complaint would be the beds - they do not have queens - only one king or two fulls - we really prefer 2 queens). We were on the 4th floor - non-smoking and pet free zone. There were tons and tons of dogs - definitely a dog-lovers paradise. But we never heard barking and the beach was clean of any doggie messes. We were there from Monday - Friday so did not experience the weekend crowd - but we heard it gets pretty crowded and noisy and were really glad we did not plan to be there over a weekend stay. The buffet in the restaurant was a little pricey - the normal fare - eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy with a fruit bar. We ate there once and then went elsewhere on the other mornings. The beach is this hotels greatest asset!! It is just beautiful and fireworks are encouraged each evening - we purchased some of our own and contributed to the display each evening as families were scattered just north of the hotel shooting them off - it was a fun way to end each day. The pool and hot tub were nice - not too crowded and at no time did we feel overwhelmed by children running unsupervised. The front desk staffers - most were friendly and ready to help with any needs - a couple need to get into a different line of work - people like happy greeters when they check in from a long drive or flight. But we tipped our cleaning lady extra - she was fantastic!! We would return.

I believe I just stayed at a Holiday Inn, but the circumstances overall were so horrible - it must be a bad dream. If you want a hotel that invites locals to use the pool, has "kid" activities at it's 2 x 4 pool every afternoon so no one can swim - don't let me forget the Sunday morning children's events...than this is the place for you. It additional to all of the "families", there was another segment of teenagers getting intoxicated and vomiting in the stairway along with all the the "pets" smells and barking all night long. I can't believe what I just experienced after having stayed at Holiday Inns for the last 40 years!

We would definitely stay here again! Very clean, and staff so caring and friendly. Our little balcony was fun to hang out on. The refridgerator made it possible to keep drinks and a few snacks. The beach was clean too. Having ice cream by the pool was just what we needed. Nibil's Restaurant was great place to eat, by the Pier with ocean view. Their Key Lime pie is excellent. The only thing that I would recommend is better lighting in bathroom. Thank you Holiday Inn for a fun stay.

We have stayed at this property MANY times over the past 10 years. We have always loved Surfside Beach - nice family atmosphere for our young family. Well, that has obviously changed. We were scheduled to stay here for 7 nights, but ended up calling Priority 1 cust. svc. an hour after we arrived. I'm all into having a good time, but at 2:00 in the afternoon, everyone was drunk at the pool. When we used the elevator, we had to share it with AT LEAST 2-3 dogs. The room was filthy If I'm paying $*** per night, I expect much more than what this hotel has to offer. Don't waste your time or money on this property!
