My family made reservations to stay at Holiday Inn at the Paviillion in February for the week of June 14. We were so looking forward to our trip. But we had a family emergency---our Aunt had 2 massive strokes and passed away. We were her only family. We called and explained our situation to the management. We did not want to cancel our reservations....we just needed to move them to two weeks later. They were not nice to us at all. They did move the reservation but refused to honor the rate we had. They bumped up the price by over $*. We have been regular customers for them but they were so ugly and un-understanding. They are ONLY interested in the money. They do not care about their customers at all.

The hotel seemed very outdated and dirty. The carpet in the room turned your feet/socks black. The cabinets in the kitchenette were falling off. The place just felt old and dirty. It was in a good location however. The staff was all very friendly. The beach was awesome. So overall it had good and bad things. I will not probably stay here again.

The hotel was just okay; it wasnt awful but it wasnt terrific either. I would not stay there again for a few reasons: First, the indoor pool and lazy river are not heated as it states on their website and this is one of the reasons we chose this hotel; we wanted to be able to swim in the off season but the only thing we got into was the hot tub. The hot tub was nice and large. It was very clean as well. We ordered a ocean front suite and we did get an ocean front room but there was a large palm tree that stood a few inches in front of our balcony obstructing the view. The parking lot used for check in is small and is hard to get in and out of but there is ample parking across the street and in their parking garage. The maid service was excellant and the maid would allow us to sleep late and come back after we had left for the day which was a blessing. The room was small but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was not that helpful when we were inquiring about another nights stay or late check out. The free breakfast was good but the lady who was running it was quite rude and constantly stood in front of the food talking with other employees. I had to say excuse me several times in order to get to the food.

The hotel was offering a aug special of book 3 nights get the 4th night free...I was unable to book on line.Problems at their end) I called and booked the special specifically addressing what we wanted. The reservation was read back to exactly as I booked it. I was to get a confirmation sent to me by e:mail.....I called 5 times asking for our confirmation. Each time I was told it will be sent out that evening, during last call I was told you don't need it you have your reservation #. Now I know why they didn't send it out ....they never planned on granting the free night!!!!!! When I told them their was a mistake with the invoice and we didn't get our free night ...I was told they never had a special like this offered. I got my lap top out to prove it to them ( the special was still on the site aug 22) the specials had all been changed.After my husband and I spoke to different guests we heard over and over again how their invoice was different than what they initially booked.You are stuck once they get you there and complain because they will charge you anywhere from 89-and up per night for cancelling with short notice. The hotel also tells house keeping to only clean the rooms of the quest that have checked out. We had to hunt down housekeeping everyday to ask for clean towels.... There are plenty of other resorts with oncean views to choose from stay far away from this one.

This was my first trip to Myrtle beach. I LOVED it. The hotel has a great location, its surrounded right near all the little shops, minutes from the airport, minutes from Broadway at the Beach and the Market Common. Plus the hotel is right on the beach. I thought that what I paid for it was a good deal. I stayed in the high rise part of the hotel and I had a beautiful view of the beach. From the moment we got there to the moment we left the staff was so accommodating and friendly. I would def stay there again.
